Jori Bercier

I went on a mission in 2013, and on that mission, we had to mow an acre of land with nothing but a sharpened piece of iron. While we mowed, the children at the orphanage nearby, came to work with us, and stayed for hours, only to be in our presence. It was then that I realized how much space, a place to occupy, can build identity, and create community. Ever since, I have traveled over 5 missions, loving the way community is built while there. Hmmm, what do I love? Classic Cars, old fashions, visiting with friends.

Madeline Fontenot

Heya! My name is Madeline Fontenot and I am currently a senior in Organizational Communication, minoring in Philosophy. I hope to go to grad school for Philosophy and Theology in hopes of being an educator in the end, whether on the high school or collegiate level. For Scio, I am making myself available for this ever-important endeavor towards mental and social health. Currently I am writing blog posts. I love travel and dialogue. The two truly go hand-in-hand in “waking” a person up to the reality which is this beautiful life. Credo!

Kayla Raffray

Undergrad in Child and Family Studies and working towards my masters in Education. Role in Scio/Area of expertise - Finance but primarily Child and Family Studies/Education. A little background about yourself: I am from Lafayette, Louisiana. I got involved with Scio because I am passionate about Jori's goal with Scio. Healing is important in every walk of life and for some, they need a safe place to do it. I am excited to help provide that and excited to see where the Lord leads us. I work the High School Youth Group at St. Pius Catholic Church and through that, we walk with the teens through their life's journeys.
